Open All the Doors – aka Santa Can NEVER Leave

One day, soon, when our children see a regular door key they won’t know what to do with it.  Household keys, landlines, and dumb thermostats will be the “In my day” like beginnings to boring stories where we stumble around with metal in our pockets, are tangled in our corded phones and are either freezing or melting inside our old fashioned homes.

Smart houses start at the door.  Today, my phone works with my front door lock to unlock and lock my home.  I get near my door (within 300m), it unlocks. I open the door manually and after 3 min it locks itself nicely after me.

The August Lock helps me stay metal detecter approved and makes moving about lugging ALL the grocery bags in one go a breeze. If you have to make two trips to the car you have failed at life.

Additionally, I can assign keys to friends and family temporarily, as well as open the door remotely with the wifi Connect adapter.

The hardware itself is simple and easy to install and use. Although, having a non-traditional lock no matter how easy to use will make everyone trying to exit somewhat flustered.

The files are in the computer...

Let me out!
