In the Internet of Relationships we find our wives, friends, bosses, pets, and dates. A new site boasts to help Mommies meet Mommies. This site is a community for parents(?) to meet one another probably for playdates for their kids based on parent compatibility.
Sounds good but after several weeks of use we are still play date-less.
Upon registering you are asked a number of questions from your philosophy to your interests but when it comes time to evaluate matches no information is given about the mommy except their playdate location wish and the ages of their children. You are also given a way to message them.
Once you message and connect there is no easy way to set a date and time. It’s a lot of back and forth via the somewhat clunky messaging app.
Also the site offends my Daddy inclusion. This site does not look or feel welcoming to dads. From its name to it’s overtly feminine look and feel, I don’t see a lot of Dads giving it a whirl. Actually I have seen 0 Dad’s on the site, so mommeetsmom mission #NoDadsAllowed complete!
While a real play date is yet to happen using this hip internet (play)date tool, I see a real need for more than virtual matching of hookups and jobs and into the realm of family and childhood.
Next time: “Track all the Steps – aka My Tracker My Precious”.
